Define "very hot" because the Pi SoC can fell very hot to the touch while still running below designed thermal limits (85C/185F).After inserting the SD card into my PI Zero W and turning it on, it gets very hot within about 40 seconds.
Could be, but more information is needed to be sure.I bought my PI Zero W a few days ago.
I flashed SD card through Raspberry Pi Imager ver.1.8.5.
OS is `Raspberry Pi OS (Legacy, 32-bit) Lite`.
Setting is nothing.
Is this symptom an initial failure?
Is it okay to have it replaced?
Try connecting power without an SD card in the system. If it still heats up quickly, then it's likely bad and needs to be replaced.
