Oy, I see....but I guess the next question is what is the key difference between the Pi4 and 5 that allows the connection in the 4 but not the 5? I'm having a bit of a hard time finding an answer to this, but is it that the xHCI in the 5 is a built-in module, whereas it was not in the 3 or 4?
celestron has a Firmware updater that detects their products when plugged in on windows and updates over USB - I guess this is different from being flashed externally with the JTAG connector (I had to look that one up)?
Pardon my incessant questions - just trying to understand things better. I'll hunt down a USB-C in-line hub and try that...I guess it is a completely different controller from the xHCI? I just want to also note that I did try with the USB 2.0 connection and got the same result.
