I'm looking to set up a fanless Pi5 with NVMe, but can't find any good cases.
The Argon NEO 5 M.2 NVMe case seems good, but how well will it work without the fan? Will it perhaps work fine without the top lid so the cooling fins are exposed? Can the fan be removed or is it enough to just not attach the power cable?
Is it possible to combine the bottom of the NEO 5 (or some other NVMe case) with the top of a case designed to be fanless? Does anyone have any experience of working combos?
I'm not running anything CPU intensive so temperatures should be OK with decent passive cooling. Main reason to switch from Pi4 to Pi5 is to use NVMe instead of an SSD attached with a SATA-to-USB adapter. Freeing up a USB port is a bonus.
Aesthetics are of no concern. And I'm aware the NEO 5 is hard to come by right now.
