How did you measure the current? I do not think 37W5 for CPU only is correct -- something is wrong if it is really drawing 7A5 at 5V, the USB-C connector is not rated for that current.

I didn't stress test it. it ran with that current about 5 seconds before I stopped it. It us way beyond the rated power. If the power supply can supply required currents and ran a Geekbench 6 benchmark it will hit beyond 6A at some point.
The 7A66 is the VDD current. Now look in that table for the voltage of VDD. It is 0V93. That makes 7W12, which at 5V is only 1A42. Even after conversion losses, that is nowhere near 7A from the supply.
OK. I get it now. Failed to see it correctly. Sorry for the confusion.
