Click the 3 dots at top right of menu bar, this will show ">_ Terminal"
Click that and it takes you into a Terminal, logged in as user homebridge (see picture below)
If you want, change to the user pi (or whatever you used when installing Raspberry Pi OS). I used pi. Then you can do all the usual things as pi.For the GUI, if not already enabled, enable VNC using raspi-config, Interfaces.
Then log in to the pi using VNC Viewer on PC/phone/iPad
