I replaced the Raspberry Pi with another 3B+ and copied over all the scripts. Everything working fine, so I suspected it was the Pi. I grabbed another Pi and used the same SD as the goofy one and the problem followed. I was able to determine that it must have been some botched update. After formatting the SD, rewriting the OS, and rebuilding the project, it all works now. Now I have yet ANOTHER pi sitting around waiting for an assignment.Could be a coincidence, but I recently got the same error and the entries for my 1wire DS18b20 temperature probes don't show up in /sys/bus/w1/devices. I had also been running a Pi4 with two of the sensors for over a year without any problem and there was as sudden stop. My initial suspicion was an OS or library update that caused the issue. However, it could be a failure of the sensors or the GPIO port (pin 22). Unfortunately, the RPi is a long distance from my so any check of the hardware will need to wait a month or two. I was using two "fake" Dallas Semi sensors, so I may be getting what I paid for.
