Mine is showing a real time video and is capturing several .h264 files. On the Pi terminal Seems that it is looking for "differences between current and previous frame" i.e. motion detection, then starts a new recording file. If one was already running it stops after 5 seconds?
You can copy the .h264 files from the Pi to (say) a PC and look at the recorded snippets.
