I would suggest a Pico W which will allow button or switch operation, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi control - possibly all three at the same time.

I would start with a simple button or switch version which would be easiest to build, would be usable as is. Then add Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi on top at your leisure.
