From an outsider's perspective, it does seem like Dride struggled with poor project management and unrealistic timelines more than technical limitations. Juggling both hardware and software development for multiple cameras was always going to be challenging on the Pi's resources. I'm sure they learned a lot, but those unhappy backers show why crowdfunding requires both technical and business acumen to succeed. At least the open source code provides value even if the company itself hasn't delivered. Sometimes the technical is harder than it looks! Their story serves as a good lesson for any future Pi-based projects.
